Mickey Knox

Actor

Born - 24 December 1921, New York City, USA
Died - 15 November 2013

Long-headed, saturnine American supporting player with receding black hair, a must for shady characters over several decades in films. A man of many talents, he also wrote English dialogue for several of the classic spaghetti westerns in the 1960s, after being blacklisted in Hollywood the previous decade. Born Abraham Knox, but always known as Mickey, he made his film debut in the still booming Hollywood of the post-war years: Killer McCoy (1947), I Walk Alone (1948), Knock on Any Door (1949), White Heat (1949), Destination Big House (1950) and Up Front (1951). Briefly blacklisted, he soldiered on: The Girl in Room 17 (1953), Garden of Eden (1954), The Naked Street (1955), Singing in the Dark (1956), GI Blues (1960), The Longest Day (1962), The Victors (1963), The 10th Victim (1965), The Biggest Bundle of Them All (1968), The Marseilles Connection (1973) Bobby Deerfield (1977), Inchon! (1980), The Lonely Lady (1983), Bolero (1984), Rent-a-Cop (1987), Ghosts Can't Do It (1989), Frankenstein Unbound (1990), The Godfather Part III (1990), Cemetery Man (1994) and the TV movie Lansky (1999), his last.
