Tall, rangy brunette actress with finely-boned features, Although her film career got rather lost in exploitation comedies, she remained a cult favourite among TV fans for her co-starring role in Steve Forrest's thriller series The Baron. She moved from modelling to acting on TV in the early 1960s and, although she had to wait a while for her film debut, it proved an auspicious one, opposite Michael Caine in The Ipcress File (1965). Subsequent film roles disappointed, although she continued to be busy: Corruption (1968), Where's Jack? (1969), Twinky (1970), Percy (1971), Go for a Take (1972), Penny Gold (1974), Spanish Fly (1976), The Ups and Downs of a Handyman (1976), The Stud (1978), The Bitch (1979), Rough Cut (1980), Eat the Rich (1988), Bullet to Beijing (1995, reprising her Ipcress File role) and Beginner's Luck (2001), her last. She also starred in more than 700 episodes of the TV series Crossroads. She married actor Ronald Allen, who died in 1991.
