Diminutive, tawny-haired, apple-cheeked, underrated American actress, a 'B'-western heroine but probably best remembered as the leading lady of the low-budget sci-fi film Robot Monster (1953). Often better than her roles, Barrett's films included White Heat (1949), The Story of Seabiscuit (1951), The Old Frontier (1950), Chain Lightning (1950), Night Riders of Montana (1951), Desperadoes' Outpost (1952), A Life at Stake (1955), Mann of Action (1958), Seven Ways from Sundown (1960), The Last Time I Saw Archie (1961), You Have to Run Fast (1961), Escape from Zahrain (1962) and Taggart (1964), her last, plus a prodigious amount of work in TV drama series. Born Imogene Williams, she died from natural causes.
