Norman Alden

Born - 13 September 1924, Fort Worth, Texas, USA
Died - 27 July 2012

Solidly-built, dark-haired. serious-looking character actor, who, although starting show business life as a comedian, played mainly blue-collar types, bullies and villains. Often billed, especially in earlier years, as Norm Alden, he once reckoned to have been killed in almost as many different ways as Elisha Cook Jr. After a film debut in Hear Me Good (1957), TV series kept him frantically busy. There were more movies, too, among them The Walking Target (1960), Portrait of a Mobster (1961), The Nutty Professor (1963), Man's Favorite Sport? (1964), Bedtime Story (1964), The Wild Angels (1966), The Devil's Brigade (1968), Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970), Kansas City Bomber (1972), The Hindenberg (1975), I Never Promised You a Rose Garden (1977), Semi-Tough (1977), Borderline (1980), Victor/Victoria (1982), Back to the Future (1985), They Live (1988), Ed Wood (1994), Patch Adams (1998) and K-PAX (2001). His last work was the TV movie Our House in 2006.
