Lugubrious, rubber-faced English character star who created a memorable gallery of film eccentrics, but is best remembered as the roadsweeper Trigger from TV's Only Fools and Horses. The son of actor Charles Lloyd-Pack and father of actress Emily Lloyd, he began appearing on TV from 1965 and films three years later: The Magus (1968), Secret Ceremony (1968), Hamlet (1969), Figures in a Landscape (1970), The Go-Between (1970), Fiddler on the Roof (1971), the Man Who Couldn't Get Enough (1974), Meetings with Remarkable Men (1979), Cuba (1979), 1984 (1984), Prick Up Your Ears (1987), The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989), American Friends (1991), The Trial (1993), Princess Caraboo (1994), Hollow Reed (1996), Vanity Fair (2004), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), The Living and the Dead (2006), Made in Dagenham (2010), Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (2011) and the short Miriam (2013), his last. He died from pancreatic cancer.
