The 'bad girl' of cult US TV, the raven-haired, high-cheekboned, slit-eyed Doherty seems to have rubbed most people up the wrong way in her feisty and ultimately tragic career. A child player who starred in the TV series Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed, she was also in spirited roles in several films: Night Shift (1982), Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985), Heathers (1988), Almost Dead (1994), Mallrats (1995), Striking Poses (1998), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), Defunct (2008), Burning Palms (2010), Bukowski (2013), Back in the Day (2016), Undateable John (2019), Hot Seat (2022) and Darkness of Man (2024), her last. Three times married, she died from breast cancer at 53, after suffering for years from the bowel complaint Crohn's Disease.
