Statuesque, sultry-looking, Swedish blonde with majestic bosom, Miss Sweden of 1950, who appeared in decorative roles in numerous Hollywood films before Italian director Federico Fellini gave her a slice of screen immortality with her sensuous dance in Rome's Trevi Fountain in his 1959 classic La Dolce Vita. After a Swedish debut in Terras Forster No. 5 (1951), the actress, born Kerstin Anita Ekberg, went to Hollywood and was immediately busy: Abbott and Costello Go to Mars (1953), The Golden Blade (1953), Blood Alley (1955), Artists and Models (1955), War and Peace (1956), Black from Eternity (1956) and Hollywood or Bust (1956). She began to move further afield: Interpol (1957), The Man Inside (1958), Les Cocottes (1960), Boccaccio 70 (1962), Call Me Bwana (1963), Four for Texas (1963), The Alphabet Murders (1965), Woman Times Seven (1967), If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium (1969), The Clowns (1970), Das Tal der Witwen (1974), Killer Nun (1978), Daisy Chain (1981), Dolce Pelle di Angela (1986), Il Conte Max (1991), Bambola (1996) and Le Nain Rouge/The Red Dwarf (1998), her last. She was married to actors Anthony Steel and Rik Van Nutter, both ending in divorce.
