Moustachioed, smoothly good-looking Afro-American actor and producer, in TV series from the mid 1990s after turning to acting from a business career in his thirties. Films as actor include The Assassin (2007), 27 Dresses (2008), Mystery Team (2009), Night Catches Us (2010), Gun Hill Road (2011), Blue Caprice (2013), Wolves (2015), King Cobra (2016), Ambition's Debt (2017), Then Came You (2018) and After the Wedding (2019), his last. A large part of his latter-day career was taken up by his work as a Broadway producer, winning three Tony awards for his hit stage productions.
