Hilary Dwyer

Actress

Born - 6 May 1945, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Died - 4 April 2020

Shapely, tawny-haired, fresh-complexioned English actress whose film career, mainly in horror films - she co-starred three times with Vincent Price - was all crammed into a few short years. At 20, she was whisked from Bristol Old Vic to acting in TV series. Her little burst of starring roles in films came a few years later: Witchfinder General (1968), The File of the Golden Goose (1968), The Body Stealers (1969), The Oblong Box (1969), Two Gentlemen Sharing (1969), Cry of the Banshee (1970) and Wuthering Heights (1970). She continued acting on TV for a few more years before leaving to run a talent agency with her then-husband; they divorced in 1989. She also produced a number of films, including An Awfully Big Adventure (1995) and Nil by Mouth (1997). Film composer Duncan Heath is the younger of her two children. She died from coronavirus.
