Born - 23 May 1924, Wandsworth, London, England
Died - 31 July 2019

Silky, provocative blonde with flawless complexion and high cheekbones, a product of the post-war Rank Charm School. Born June Elvin Gomersall, she was in ENSA drama productions during WW2, then briefly on stage before appearances in films by Ealing Studios and The Rank Organisation, mostly as flighty young things. Her debut in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (1947) was followed by The Woman in the Hall (1947), Look Before You Love (1948), The Small Back Room (1949), Celia (1949), Let's Have a Murder (1950), She Shall Have Murder (1950), The Wonder Kid (1951), Salute the Toff (1951) and Judgment Deferred (1952). In 1951, she married a Polish airman and disappeared from the film scene. Later, she combined repertory work with running an off-licence and there was one further film appearance, in Too Hot to Handle (1960). She remained active in local theatre work into her nineties, and wrote a novel about the work of nurses in WW2.
