Roy Hudd

Comedian/actor

Born - 16 May 1936, Croydon, London (then Surrey), England
Died - 15 March 2020

Permanently-smiling, surprisingly tall, impish, wide-eyed English comedian and actor with thin, wide mouth and gap-toothed grin. His gallery of goofy characters took flight in the radio series The News Huddlines, which ran for donkey's years, only ending in 2001. He could give good straight acting performances too, although film appearances were mostly comic cameos: The Blood Beast Terror (1967), Up Pompeii (1971), The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins (1971), Up the Chastity Belt (1972), The Alf Garnett Saga (1972), What'll You Have? (1977), A Kind of Hush (1999), Purely Belter (2000), Jack, the Last Victim (2005), Florence Nightingale (2008), Robot Overlords (2014) and Patrick the Pug (2018), his last.
