Slim-faced, auburn-haired (sometimes blonde) Italian leading lady of striking presence, a key figure in the 'Giallo' suspense and horror films at the peak of the genre, sometimes billed as Marina Mulligan for western audiences. After making her name on stage, she moved into films for 15 busy years: La Cameriere/The Maid (1959), A Mistress for the Summer (1960), A Man for Burning (1962), Outlaws of Love (1963), The Reckless (1965), More Than a Miracle/Cinderella, Italian Style (1967), Run, Psycho, Run (1968), The Fourth Victim (1970), The Night Evelyn Rose from the Tomb (1971), Seven Blood-Stained Orchids (1971), All the Colours of the Dark (1972), Il Ritorno di Clint Il Solitario (1972), The Red Queen Kills Seven Times (1972), The Red-Stained Lawn (1973), Without Warning (1973), A Black Ribbon for Deborah (1974) and Lezione di Violoncello con Toccata e Fuga (1975), her last. Tiring of her film career, she returned to the stage, with occasional appearances on TV, remaining active well into the 21st century.
