Natasha Parry

Actress

Born - 2 December 1930, London, England
Died - 22 July 2015

Among the prettiest of post-war English actresses, if perhaps not the strongest, Natasha Parry gave her best performances on stage. The daughter of Anglo-Greek director Gordon Parry, she began acting as a child - 1935's Joy Ride - and started taking adult film roles at 17: Bond Street (1948), Trottie True (1948), Golden Arrow (1949), Dance Hall (1950, her best film work), The Dark Man (1950), Crow Hollow (1952), Knave of Hearts (1954), Windom's Way (1957), Midnight Lace (1960), Girl in the Headlines (1963), Romeo and Juliet (1968), Oh! What a Lovely War (1969), Meetings with Remarkable Men (1978), The Prodigal Daughter (1981) and The Bed (1982). She married stage and film director Sir Peter Brook (their daughter is actress Irina Brook) and moved to France where, much later, she made her last film, The Taste of Blueberries (2014). She died following a stroke. The lack of an entry in the UK birth records for a Natasha Parry suggests that the original family surname might have been something different.
