Jan-Michael Vincent

Actor

Born - 15 July 1944, Adams, Colorado, USA
Died - 10 February 2019

Boyishly-handsome American leading man with fine physique, a mane of fair hair and cocky smile. Teenage fan bait throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, he had a hit TV series with Airwolf in the mid 1980s before his career went downhill in a well-publicised spiral of drugs and alcohol. He broke his neck and damaged vocal chords in a 1996 car crash and had his right leg amputated after another crash 12 years later. Eye-catchingly good-looking from an early age, he made his film debut in his early twenties and would be popular for another two decades: Los Bandidos (1966), Journey to Shiloh (1967), The Undefeated (1969), The Soldier Who Declared Peace (1970), Going Home (1971), The Mechanic (1972), The World's Greatest Athlete (1973), Buster and Billie (1974), Bite the Bullet (1975), Baby Blue Marine (1976), Damnation Alley (1977), Big Wednesday (1977), Hooper (1978), Defiance (1979), The Return (1980), Hard Country (1981), Last Plane Out (1983), Get Out of My Room (1985), Enemy Territory (1987), Born in East LA (1988), Hit List (1989), Deathstone (1990), Raw Nerve (1991), Beyond the Call of Duty (1992), Midnight Witness (1993), Ipi Tombi (1993), The Ice Cream Man 1994), Redline (1995), Russian Roulette (1996), Buffalo '66 (1998), White Boy (1999), Escape to Grizzly Mountain (2000), The Thundering 8th (2000), his last, and many more, some going straight to video in later years. He died from cardiac arrest.
