Ronnie Corbett

Born - 4 December 1930, Edinburgh, Scotland
Died - 31 March 2016

Tiny (just over five feet), dark-haired, round-faced, bespectacled, ever-smiling, shaggy dog story-telling Scottish-born comedian, enormously popular on UK TV partnering Ronnie Barker as half of The Two Ronnies, a top-rated entertainment show that ran from 1971 to 1987. He had started in films as cheeky schoolboys: You're Only Young Twice (1952), Top of the Form (1952), The Million Pound Note (1954), Fun at St Fanny's (1955), Rockets Galore (1958), inevitably the dormouse in a TV special, Alice Through the Looking Box (1960), Operation Snatch (1962) and Casino Royale (1967). There were bigger roles in The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer (1970), Some Will, Some Won't (1970) and No Sex Please, We're British (1973). Much later he was seen in Fierce Creatures (1997) and Burke and Hare (2010). He died from motor neurone disease. So it's goodnight from him...
