Roger Smith

Born - 18 December 1932, South Gate, California, USA
Died - 4 June 2017

Strongly-built, brown-haired, snub-nosed, handsome leading man who enjoyed his biggest success as Jeff Spencer in more than 100 episodes of TV's 77 Sunset Strip. Later, afflicted with myasthenia gravis, a nerve disorder, he largely abandoned his acting career to manage that of his wife of more than 50 years, singer-actress Ann-Margret. In films from his early twenties, he made appearances in Over-Exposed (1956), Operation Mad Ball (1957), Man of a Thousand Faces (1957), Auntie Mame (1958), Never Steal Anything Small (1959), For Those Who Think Young (1964) and the title role in Rogue's Gallery (1967), his last. His first wife was Australian-born Hollywood star Victoria Shaw, who died from emphysema in 1988.
