Individualistic English actress with urchin-cut dark hair and big brown eyes, a distinctive personality who spent most of her busy career on TV in such series as Blake's 7. Early film credits include Genghis Khan (1965), Sky West and Crooked (1965), The Plague of the Zombies (1966), The Reptile (1966, in the title role!), Carry On Don't Lose Your Head (1967) and Don't Raise the Bridge, Lower the River (1968) - before working on TV and the stage for the next 20 years. Occasional later movies include White Mischief (1987), How to Get Ahead in Advertising (1989), Princess Caraboo (1994), Guru in Seven (1998) and The Unexpected Mrs Pollifax (1999). Married and divorced from actor Drewe Henley, she retired in 2008 and died from lung cancer.
