Buddy Van Horn

Tall, leathery American performer, born Wayne Van Horn, who, after years as a stuntman and occasional actor, directed long-time associate Clint Eastwood in Any Which Way You Can (1980), The Dead Pool (1988) and Pink Cadillac (1989). After a period in the US Army, he joined Universal Studios as a horse wrangler, and was soon moving into stunt doubling for actors in, among many others, I Killed Geronimo (1950), Son of Paleface (1952), Prince Valiant (1954), Around the World in 80 Days (1956), Major Dundee (1965), Firecreek (1968), Two Mules for Sister Sara (1970), Bite the Bullet (1975), City Heat (1984) and Crocodile Dundee II (1988). He continued as a stunt co-ordinator until 2011. As an actor, he had small roles in several films, among them Destry (1954), Spartacus (1960), Paint Your Wagon (1969), High Plains Drifter (1973), Pale Rider (1985) and Shakedown (1988).
