Dark-haired, dark-eyed, long-faced child player, often in brattish roles. The sister of B-movie leading lady Rita Quigley (1923-2008), she began her film career at the age of two, billed (when credited) as Baby Jane, most notably in Imitation of Life and The Man Who Reclaimed His Head, both in 1934. Later credits include Alias Mary Dow (1935), Straight from the Heart (1935), Riffraff (1936), Born to Dance (1936), Hawaii Calls (1937), You and Me (1938), Having Wonderful Time (1938), That Certain Age (1938), The Family Next Door (1939), The Blue Bird (1940), Bachelor Daddy (1941), A Yank at Eton (1942), Happy Land (1943), Whispering Footsteps (1943) and National Velvet (1944), as Elizabeth Taylor's sister. Later, she made Luxury Liner (1948) and Mystery Street (1950), her last. She became a nun in 1951, but subsequently returned to civilian life.
