Chad Everett

Actor

Born - 11 June 1936, South Bend, Indiana, USA
Died - 24 July 2012

Tall, blond, blue-eyed, handsome and seemingly permanently suntanned in recollection, Everett (born Raymon Lee Cramton) also had the dubious distinction of being MGM's very last contract player. Despite leading roles in medium-budget movies, he never quite made it to the top of the tree, although he did remain a busy working actor up to his death from lung cancer. He made his debut, though, in a Warner Brothers film, Claudelle Inglish/Young and Eager (1961). Subsequent work includes Rome Adventure (1962), The Chapman Report (1962), The Swinging Set (1964), The Singing Nun (1966), First to Fight (1967), The Pistolero of Red River (1967) and The Impossible Years (1968), followed by eight years as Dr Joe Gannon in the TV series Medical Center. Later film work was more sporadic: The Firechasers (1971), Give Me My Money (1977), Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), Fever Pitch (1985), The Jigsaw Murders (1989), Psycho (1998), Mulholland Drive (2001), View from the Top (2003), The Pink Conspiracy (2007) and Break (2008), his last. He was married for 45 years to the actress Shelby Grant (Brenda Thompson) who died in 2011.
