Tall, strong-chinned, golden-haired comedienne, singer and character actress, purveyor of vignettes in French movies from the early 1970s - often comic cameos with a cutting edge. After a debut in L'Oeuf/The Egg (1971), she was seen in Salut l'Artiste (1973), Paul and Michelle (1974), Piaf: the Early Years (1974), Calmos (1976), Get Out Your Handkerchiefs (1978), L'Ami de Vincent (1983), Agent Trouble (1987), Mother (1992), Les Miserables (1995), La Mort du Chinois (1998), Les Freres Soeur (2000), My Wife's Name is Maurice (2002), Lucky Luke and the Daltons (2004) and L'Auberge Rouge (2007), her last. She died from a heart attack after suffering from Parkinson's Disease. The actress Mathilde Vitry is her daughter.
