Director

Born - 27 May 1951, Kensington, London, UK
Died - 24 October 2013

Dark-haired, apple-cheeked British filmmaker who began her career in her early thirties by directing episodes of TVs' EastEnders. In the 1990s, she moved into films with some controversial subjects: Priest (1994), Mad Love (1995), Face (1997) and Ravenous (1999). After this burst of movies, she returned to high-quality television, but at the time of her death she was working on Cross My Mind, her first cinema film for more than a decade. The co-founder of 4-Way Films (with actor Robert Carlyle), she died from anaplastic thyroid cancer.
