Bobby Breen

Singer/actor

Born - 4 November 1927, Montreal, Canada
Died - 19 September 2016

Brown-haired boy singer and actor with delicate, appealing features and crystal-clear, bell-like voice. He became a major attraction in the Hollywood of the late 1930s, but quit film-making in the early 1940s to concentrate on his night-club act: later he ran a talent agency. Born Isadore Borsuk of Ukrainian parentage, he was top-billed in his first film, Let's Sing Again (1936) and subsequently made Rainbow on the River (1936), Make a Wish (1937), Breaking the Ice (1938), Hawaii Calls (1938), Way Down South (1939), Fisherman's Wharf (1939), Escape to Paradise (1940), Johnny Doughboy (1942) and the UK comedy-musical London Entertains (1951), his last. His third wife Audre died three days before him.
