Deborah Raffin

Actress

Born - 13 March 1953, Los Angeles, California, USA
Died - 21 November 2012

Tall, fair-haired, pale-eyed actress whose fresh looks got her cast in leading roles at 20. The daughter of minor 1940s' actress Trudy Marshall (1922-2004), she studied acting in England and America, before making her debut as the ingenue in 40 Carats (1973), followed by starring roles in The Dove (1974) and Once is Not Enough (1974). But her cinema career never quite caught fire, and she was seen more frequently in TV movies in the ensuing years. In 1985, however, she and her then-husband founded Dove Audio Books, which they turned into a multi-million dollar business before selling in 1997. Her other films, often of an exploitative nature, included The Sentinel (1976), Demon (1977), Assault on Paradise (1977), Hanging on a Star (1978), Touched by Love (1980), Death Wish 3 (1985), Grizzly II (1987), Scanners II: the New Order (1991) and Morning Glory (1993), her last. She died from leukemia.
