Pretty, brown-haired English songbird, the first to represent Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957. Quite the coming thing as a sparky young actress, her career in films ultimately extended to no longer than a few years: The Bridal Path (1959), Left, Right and Centre (1959), Make Mine a Million (1959), Desert Mice (1959), The Treasure of Monte Cristo (1961) and To Have and to Hold (1963), her last. Long after divorce from Welsh actor-singer Ivor Emmanuel, her second husband died on their honeymoon and she did not remarry. She died in Nova Scotia at 88.
