Dark-haired, square-built, cheerful-looking American actor, famous as the wisecracking Chandler Bing in Friends, a hot TV series that held him in thrall for a decade. Although his work was mainly in TV, there were also a number of film appearances, among them A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1987), She's Out of Control (1989), Getting In (1994), Parallel Lives (1994), Fools Rush In (1997), Almost Heroes (1998), Three to Tango (1999), The Whole Nine Yards (2000), Serving Sara (2002), The Whole Ten Yards (2004), Numb (2007), Birds of America (2008) and 17 Again! (2009), plus the mini-series The Kennedys After Camelot (2017), his last. He was found dead from ketamine poisoning in the hot tub (spa bath) at his home.
