Big, hearty, fair-haired actor and singer of Austrian parentage who served in the British army, worked on London magazines and sang in nightclubs before going into acting in his late twenties. Usually seen in eccentric cameo roles, he could be spotted in The Slams (1973), Young Frankenstein (1974), Lepke (1975), The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington (1977), Time After Time (1979), Cataclysm (1980), Six Weeks (1982), The Man Who Wasn't There (1983), KGB: The Secret War (1985), Mission Kill (1986), The Boost (1988), Transylvania Twist (1989), Lionheart (1990), Shining Through (1992), Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), The American President (1995), The Evening Star (1996), The Landlady (1998), Cruel Intentions 2 (2000), Just Married (2003), The Kreutzer Sonata (2008), Hopelessly in June (2011), The Five-Year Engagement (2012), Hail, Caesar! (2016), Angels on Tap (2018) and Children of Moloch (2019), his last. Billed as Clement St George until 1985, he died from hypoxia.
