Patrice Wymore

Actress/singer

Born - 17 December 1926, Miltonville, Kansas, USA
Died - 22 March 2014

Fairly tall, reddish-blonde, slim, unthreateningly pretty singer, dancer and actress of cool personality who, after some success in Broadway musicals, was brought to Hollywood at 23 by Warner Brothers, who never really showcased her talents to the best advantage. She slipped into 'other woman' roles and her only leading roles were, like the second (after which she married the star, Errol Flynn) in westerns. After a debut in Tea for Two (1950), she made Rocky Mountain (1950), I'll See You in My Dreams (1951), The Man Behind the Gun (1952), The Big Trees (1952), She's Working Her Way Through College (1952) and She's Back on Broadway (1953). Leaving Warners, she didn't exactly set the world on fire. After King's Rhapsody (1955), she more or less retired to look after her daughter Arnella (who died in 1998). Following a few more more appearances - The Sad Horse (1959), Ocean's Eleven (1960) and Chamber of Horrors (1966) - she retired again, this time to the Jamaican ranch and cocoanut plantation that Flynn, from whom she was separated, had left her. She played a cameo role in the much-titled adventure Treasure Seekers when it was filmed on the island in 1977. She died from pulmonary disease.
