Peggy Cummins

Actress

Born - 18 December 1925, Prestatyn, Denbighshire, Wales
Died - 29 December 2017

Petite, blonde, green-eyed British actress with enviable figure who lost out on major Hollywood stardom when script reworkings resulted in her losing the leading role in Forever Amber (1947). As it was, she still stayed in the film capital long enough to give her most striking performance, as the kill-crazy sharpshooter in Gun Crazy (1949). Born Augusta Margaret Fuller, she was in films as a teenager, but her roles are fewer than one remembers: Dr O'Dowd (1939), Salute John Citizen (1942), English Without Tears (1944 ), The Late George Apley (1946), Moss Rose (1947), Green Grass of Wyoming (1948), That Dangerous Age (1949), My Daughter Joy (1950), Who Goes There! (1952), Always a Bride (1953), The Love Lottery (1954), The March Hare (1956), Hell Drivers (1957), Night of the Demon (1957), The Captain's Table (1958), Dentist in the Chair (1960), In the Doghouse (1961) and others. Her last appearance was in the TV mini-series Almost a Honeymoon in 1965. She died following a stroke, her husband of more than 50 years having passed away in 2001.
