Born - 7 June 1958, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
Died - 21 April 2016

Diminutive, stage-strutting, extravagantly-dressed, immensely popular American singer, known as the Purple Popinjay. His voice was as high-pitched as his shoes and his charisma captivated millions. Born Prince Rogers Nelson, he only made a few films, all in the 1980s: Purple Rain (1984), Under the Cherry Moon (1986) and Graffiti Bridge (1990), directing the last two himself. He also starred in and directed the straight-to-video film 3 Chains o' Gold (1994), billing himself as Paisley Park, the name of his Minnesota mansion, where he was found dead at the age of 57 from an opioid overdose.
