Distinctively slim-faced, very pale-haired and vaguely aristocratic English actress (born Georgina Hole) who made her name with unrestrainedly sexy roles in films by Ken Russell. Good parts proved hard to find as she neared middle age, but she continued to do good and varied work on stage. Films include The World Ten Times Over (1963), The Sandwich Man (1966), The Devils (1971), The Boy Friend (1971), The Love Ban (1972), Eagle in a Cage (1972), Butley (1974), Mahler (1974), Lisztomania (1975), Voyage of the Damned (1976), Valentino (1977), Sweeney 2 (1978), The World is Full of Married Men (1979), McVicar (1980), The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981), Castaway (1986), Beyond Bedlam (1994), Preaching to the Perverted (1997), Gamal Abd El Nasar (1998), AKA (2002), Photo Finish (2003), Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont (2005), Cockneys vs Zombies (2012) and Angel (2015), her last. She marred actor John Forgeham, but they later divorced; he died in 2017.
