Busy film CV includes appearances in The Hustler (1961), The Pawnbroker (1964), Gunn (1967), The St Valentine's Day Massacre (1967), The Sweet Ride (1968), as Flat Nose Curry in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), Pound (1970), Angels Hard as They Come (1971), The Hot Box (1972), The Sting (1973), Messiah of Evil (1974), The Deerslayer (1978), Texas Lightning (1981), Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984), The Fix (1985), Savage Harbor (1987), Blood Red (1989), Under Crystal Lake (1991), Roots of Evil (1992), Maverick (1994), Too Fast Too Young (1996), Merchants of Venus (1998), Superguy: Behind the Cape (2000), Murder on the Yellow Brick Road (2005), Forget Me Not (2009), The Midnighters (2015), The Custodian (2017) and, appropriately, as an aged bank robber in Heaven & Hell (2018), his last. He died from a heart attack.
