Very tall, bony-faced, ascetic-looking English actor in coolly authoratitive supporting roles. The son of star film actor Roland Culver, Michael's appearances were mainly on TV, but there were a few films along the way: The Night of the Match (1961), From Russia With Love (1963), Thunderball (1965), The Body Stealers (1968), Goodbye, Mr Chips (1969), Crossplot (1969), The Fast Kill (1972), Conduct Unbecoming (1975), Donald Maclean in the TV movie Philby, Burgess and MacLean (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), The Bunker (1981), A Passage to India (1984), The Colour of Justice (1999), The Three Dumas (2007) and Servants' Quarters (2016), his last. Actress Lucinda Curtis was the first of his two wives.
