Born Luis de Los Reyes of Cuban heritage, his films include Salsa (1988), Ghetto Blaster (1989), Coldfire (1990), Lethal Ninja (1991), The Silencer (1992), Street Knight (1993), Father Hood (1993), Nixon (1995), In Search of a Dream (1997), The Cell (2000), Love & Suicide (2005), Salt (2010), Hot Guys With Guns (2013), L.A. Apocalypse (2015), Amelia 2.0 (2017) and First Strike Butcher Knife (2018), his last. He died from cancer, survived by his actress wife Sherri Saum and twin sons.
