Many film appearances included those in Cottage to Let (1941), Henry V (1944), Quartet (1948), The Happiest Days of Your Life (1950), Scrooge (1951), Our Girl Friday (1953), The Belles of St Trinian's (1954), It's a Wonderful World (1956), Too Many Crooks (1959), The Pure Hell of St Trinian's (1960), One Way Pendulum (1964), The Great St Trinian's Train Robbery (1966), Fright (1971), The Blue Bird (1976), Mary Reilly (1996) and The Ghost of Greville Lodge (2000), his last, although he continued acting in TV series until 2008. Married actresses Eileen Moore (1954-66) and Penny Morrell (1968 on).
