Pretty American child star of silent films, with a mass of golden hair that turned light brown as she grew to maturity. Vonnie to her friends, she continued her career into 'junior miss' roles, but retired on marrying in 1941. Her silent films included City That Never Sleeps (1924), One Glorious Night (1924), The Pony Express (1925), Border Vengeance (1925), Happy Days (1926), On Trial (1928) and The Dummy (1929). After a break for education, she returned in That Certain Age (1938), Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever (1939), Scouts to the Rescue (1939), Little Nellie Kelly (1940), Strike Up the Band (1940), The Chocolate Soldier (1941) and Men of Boys' Town (1941). Her husband of 65 years died in 2006
