Clifford Severn

South African-born child and juvenile player with dark wavy hair whose family emigrated to California in 1933. Clifford, the second oldest, enjoyed 10 years as a young actor there before quitting the profession to join the British armed forces in World War Two. He did not return to acting, but was a pioneer in Hollywood cricket, a game he played into his eighties. After a debut in Jalna (1935), the young Thespian was seen in The Perfect Gentleman (1935), Quality Street (1937), A Christmas Carol (1938), Man About Town (1939), Gaucho Serenade (1940), Captain Caution (1940), How Green was My valley (1941), Son of Fury (1942), Random Harvest (1942), Forever and a Day (1943), They Live in Fear (1944), his last, and others. He died following a series of strokes.
