Strikingly pretty brunette singer who played supporting roles in 'A' movies and heroines in 'B" thrillers and westerns of the 1940s, co-starring in the latter with such singing cowboys as Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Born Ruth Mahon, she was a band singer at 16, making her film debut with a speciality number in Hawaiian Nights (1937). Later work included Alexander's Ragtime Band (1938), The Hound of the Baskervilles (1939), Sing, Dance, Plenty Hot (1940), Blondie Goes Latin (1941), Heart of the Golden West (1942), Man from Music Mountain (1943), Jamboree (1944), Tell It to a Star (1945) and Smoky River Serenade (1947). After her divorce in 1957, she returned to acting for a few more years, making the films Hand of Death (1962) and The New Interns (1964), her last.
