Lovely, diminutive, raven-haired star of silent and early sound films, mostly in sweet-natured roles. Born Barbara Curtis, her career span was only 10 years, but she co-starred with Harold Lloyd in two of his early sound comedies as well as breaking through to stardom in one of the last great romantic films of the silents, Lonesome. Her other movies included Prowlers of the Night (1926), Flesh and the Devil (1926), Man's Law (1927). Modern Mothers (1928), The Shakedown (1929), Welcome Danger (1929), Feet First (1930), Indiscreet (1931), Vanity Fair (1932), Emma (1932), Oliver Twist (1933), Swellhead (1934), Old Man Rhythm (1935) and Guard That Girl (1935), her last.
