TV work dominated the body of his career, with the occasional film appearance on the way: Drive, He Said (1971), Oh, God! (1977), The Cheap Detective (1978), Harry's War (1981), Creator (1985), The Accidental Tourist (1988), Shadows and Fog (1991), Taking Liberty (1993), Bad Company (1995), Mighty Aphrodite (1995), Jungle 2 Jungle (1997), The Stand-In (1999), Tomcats (2001), The Majestic (2001), Not Dead Yet (2009) and Ned Stryker and the Tyrant of Time (2017), his last. He was also in demand in later times for voices in Disney cartoon features, notably Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast (1991). He died from bladder cancer.
