Long-faced, wide-mouthed blonde American singer and zany, born Rose Marie Mazetta and in show business from early childhood as Baby Rose Marie. Raucously belting out songs from the age of three, she was in Hollywood shorts from the age of four - credited for the first time in Baby Rose Marie, the Child Wonder in 1929. As Baby Rose Marie, she also appeared in Sing, Babies, Sing! (1932), International House (1933), At the Mike (1934), All-Star Vaudeville (1935), Flippen's Frolics (1936) and Sally Swing (1938). Billed as Rose Marie from adulthood, she made a few more films in between nightclub work: Surprising Suzie (1953), Top Banana (1954), Just Off Broadway (1955) and The Big Beat (1958). After success as Sally in The Dick Van Dyke Show on TV, she made further wisecracking film appearances: Don't Worry, We'll Think of a Title (1966), Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round (1966), Memory of Us (1973), The Man from Clover Grove (1974), Cheaper to Keep Her (1980), Lunch Wagon (1981), Witchboard (1986), Sandman (1993), Lost & Found (1999) and Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th (2000), her last. She married musician Bobby Guy, but he died in 1964 from a blood infection.
