Lean, innocent-looking, not-too-tall American comedian with light-brown hair, one half of the Smothers Brothers comedy act, a big hit with their own TV show in the 1960s. Occasional film appearances include those in Premium (1971), Get to Know Your Rabbit (1972), Silver Bears (1977), A Pleasure Doing Business (1979), Serial (1980), There Goes the Bride (1980), Pandemonium (1982), Yo-Yo Man (1998), Speed Zone (1989), Mr Bill Does Vegas (2002), Once Upon a Mattress (2005) and The Informant! (2009), his last. Survived by his (third) wife, producer Marcy Carriker, three children and his younger brother Dick, he died from cancer.
