Magic Mike's Last Dance
Stars: Channing Tatum, Salma Hayek Pinault, Ayub Khan-Din, Juliette Motamed
Director: Steven Soderbergh
Dynamic soft-porn dancing in extensively on the menu here, as sexual positions and gyrations star in a display of slickly choreographed bump and grind on the dance floor.
Down on his luck, Magic Mike (Tatum), no longer a top Chippendale-style dancer, encounters spectacularly stacked and very rich Mexican 40something Maxandra Mendoza (Hayek Pinault) who pays him six grand to do a dance of love with her (a very hot sequence) that inevitably ends between the sheets. Nice work if you can get it.
Taking him with her to London, with her droll manservant (Khan-Din) in tow, and her teenage daughter(Motamed) soon added to the entourage, 'Max' proposes that Mike direct a Full Monty-type dancing review at a theatre co-owned by her estranged husband.
You really don't need me to tell you more, except that the dreadful narration (and its dialogue) is good for a running laugh, and that the acting, especially from the UK contingent, is terrible.
That, though, is hardly the point of a patched-together third in the series that simply invites you to take it or leave it.
