All is Vanity

It's hard to see how a film like this minimalist offering can get a mainstream release, while better fare languishes on the shelf until sent to video or dvd.
In a woefully under-equipped facility, four people assemble to make an 'All is Vanity' photoshoot - a photographer (Phoenix), a model (Bonfrer), a makeup artist (Steel) and a gofer (Aroussi). They hang around not doing very much for the first 40 minutes of the film, which is boring as hell. Then the makeup artist disappears and

we see that the four were taking part in a (very bad) film. From here on, the movie gradually slides into paranormal timeslip territory. It doesn't help. 'God,' complains the model. 'I feel like I'm aboard a sinking ship'. Girl, you are so right.
In fairness, it should be added that the acting is perfectly competent throughout.
