Do99ing - A Love Story

2/10

Stars: Luke Treadaway, Kate Heppell, Michael Socha, Richard Riddell, Sammy T Dobson, Justine Glenton

Director: Simon Ellis

Dogging - or Do99ing, as the credits have it - is having sex in cars - a 21st century Newcastle take on Lovers' Lane. There's also a slight love story attached, as a would-be journalist (Treadaway), who goes around filming 'doggers' for what he imagines will be his breakthrough feature, becomes involved with Laura (Heppell) whom he meets in an Internet sex chatroom, where she is logged on as Horny Geordie Lass.

There's a lot of dogging, courtesy 'nightvision' cameras, and a thin second narrative thread, involving partners switching around, and Laura is also pursued by Jim (Socha), whose idea of a surefire chat-up line is 'I've got some steak and kidney pie left in my pocket. Do you want to feed the ducks?'

With altogether too much sexual activity of one kind of another, and despite one or two chuckles and a few smart lines, it's pretty unbearable.
