Deliver Us from Evil (Right at Your Door)
Stars: Rory Cochrane, Mary McCormack
Director: Chris Gorak
Chemical bombs are exploded all over Los Angeles, cloaking the city in toxic ash. After a desperate but unavailing search for his wife, Brad (Cochrane), urged on by the next-door handyman (Tony Perez), whom he has sheltered, seals off his house.
His wife Lexie (McCormack) than returns, gasping, coughing and beating on the door, to a husband who feels he dare not let her in.
Virtually a two-character piece, this film - shot in deliberately bleached-out colour that may give you a headache - simply doesn't have enough development to stop you nodding off during its 95 minutes, despite a twist in the tail and full-blast performances from the principals.
Let's hope, though, that its horrific scenario never really happens.
