Why Him?

Stars: Bryan Cranston, James Franco, Zoey Deutch, Megan Mullally, Zack Pearlman, Cedric the Entertainer, Tangie Ambrose, Keegan-Michael Key, Griffin Gluck

Director: John Hamburg

Alternating wincing embarrassment with laugh-out-loud moments, this (exceptionally) gross-out comedy sees Cranston and Franco exceptionally well cast as irate dad and the boyfriend from hell. It's more than borderline offensive, but still quite fun once you get with the programme.

And, although it overdoes the use of the f-word, the romp does have some mirthful moments, as businessman Cranston frantically tries to keep his company together, as well as attempting to rid himself of this millionaire, but multi-tattooed and serially vulgar limpet (who else but Franco?) who has battened himself on to the Cranston family daughter (Deutch) and threatens to whisk her off.

Given the film's ending, who would bet against a sequel?
