Here's one American import that should have stayed on the other side of the Pond. Most UK audiences - that is, the few who are likely to see it - may make neither head nor tail of this deadly dull Wall Street drama.
Writer Amy Fox tries to enliven things with a lot of bad language, but it only means that leading lady Gunn (from TV's Breaking Bad) has to shout a lot more than is good for the film, which could do with an altogether more subtle approach.
None of the characters here is at all likeable, all being snakes-in-the-grass in hot pursuit of their own ends. Even the detective trying to pin something on one of the bad guys despairs in the end, reminding me of Charlie Chan's son's eternal complaint 'Aw gee, Pop, when are we going to arrest somebody?'.
Rest assured no one here is going to end up in jail and, with nothing and no one to hang on to, our interest evaporates. Performances are competent but no more. Eric Lin's glowing cinematography is the best thing on show.
