Employee of the Month

7/10

Stars: Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson, Dax Shepard, Efren Ramirez, Andy Dick

Director: Greg Coolidge

You'll never believe working in a supermarket could be such fun. Zack (Cook, a comedian with leading man potential), a failure in life who lives with his grandmother, is now box boy at a big superstore where Vince (Shepard) has won Employee of the Month 17 times in a row.

Then a hot new cashier, Amy (Simpson) arrives, complete with a reputation of sleeping with the Employee of the Month. Zack is smitten. And a battle royal with the snidey Vince begins.

'What's my pin number?' shouts Gran across the store. '1234 Grandma,' responds Zack. 'Now we need to change it again.' That's only one of a fair number of funny lines in a film whose most charming sequence comes when Zack treats Amy to a romantic evening - a meal, golf and a film - all inside the store, where snoopy Vince never dreams they'll go.

And, although Simpson's famous bust is well to the fore, it doesn't spoil this slice of over-easy enetrtainment which boasts lots of amusing cameos from its supporting players.
